See How a Self-Cleaning Pool Works
The process of cleaning and maintaining an inground pool can be endless — but our exclusive in-floor cleaning system makes pool ownership easy. For more than 30 years Seasonal World has been installing the in-floor cleaning system, and it truly stands the test of time.
Rotating cleaning jets placed strategically in the floor, steps, and benches sweep debris from every corner toward a patented debris collection zone — an area stretching across the deepest part of your pool, where debris is channeled to the MDX-R3 VGB compliant safety drain and into a deck-side debris canister. No hoses. No vacuums. Just clean water.
Six Components Working Together
The full anatomy of our in-floor cleaning system — from pop-up jets to deck-side debris removal.
The six numbered components below correspond to the diagram above — jets, drains, canister, valve, all working together.
Rotating Pop-Up Cleaning Jets
Placed in floors, walls, steps, benches — and even spas. The jets work together to sweep debris toward the patented collection zone.
MDX-R3 VGB Safety Drain
VGB-compliant safety drain. Continually collects large debris from the collection zone and delivers it to the debris containment canister.
Debris Containment Canister
Works with MDX-R3 to hold large debris for easy deck-side removal. Pair with MVFUSE magnetic vacuum release (SVRS) for added safety.
SDX VGB High-Flow Drain
Pairs with the MDX-R3 to offer an additional layer of anti-entrapment protection. Also handles supplemental suction requirements.
Downjet Wall Returns
Strategically placed wall returns help clean deep-end walls and slopes — enhancing the system's overall cleaning and circulation.
Automatic Watervalve
The brain of the system. Directs powerful water flow to each set of cleaning jets in sequence. No routine maintenance, 100% pressure-safe.
Seven Benefits You'll Feel All Season
A self-cleaning pool gives you more than just a debris-free floor. It changes how the whole pool feels.
Cleaner, healthier water
Continuous circulation means fewer stagnant zones for bacteria and algae.
No algae-prone dead zones
Poor circulation is the main cause of localized algae. The pop-up jets eliminate it.
No cold spots
Water mixes evenly so swimming is comfortable throughout the entire pool.
Saves chemicals
Better circulation means more efficient chemical use — for the life of the pool.
Saves energy
Less pump runtime needed to keep the pool clean and the water mixed.
Better for the environment
Less chemical use, less energy use, less water replacement.
Independently proven to save money
Studies show the system pays for itself over the life of the pool in saved chemicals, energy, and labor.
