What a Good Installation Includes
Whether you hire a professional or do it yourself, here's what a proper above ground pool installation should cover — from start to first swim.
Site Assessment
Before anything else, evaluate the yard for the best pool placement — grade, drainage, access, and proximity to utilities and structures all matter.
Ground Leveling
A level base is critical for structural integrity. The ground should be prepped so the pool sits flat and drains properly from day one.
Delivery
Seasonal World delivers the pool, liner, filter system, and all components directly to your property — no separate shipments to track.
Pool Assembly
The frame, walls, top rails, and all structural components should be assembled according to manufacturer specifications. This is where experience really matters.
Liner Installation
Your liner should be fit with proper alignment — wrinkle-free and seated correctly. Not sure which liner? Browse our liner options.
Fill & Chemical Balance
Once assembled, the pool gets filled and the water chemistry balanced so it's safe and swim-ready. Ask us about chemical startup kits when you purchase your pool.
Equipment Setup
Filter pump, hoses, skimmer, and return jets should all be connected, tested, and running before your installer wraps up.
Walkthrough
A good installer walks you through everything — how to run the pump, when to add chemicals, and what to watch for. Make sure you feel confident before they leave.
This is what it's all about — your backyard, your pool, ready to enjoy.
Your Two Options
It's your choice — and plenty of people go either route successfully.
Do It Yourself
Many of our customers install their own above ground pools. Most manufacturers include detailed instructions, and there are excellent video guides available online.
Hire a Local Installer
We work with experienced local professionals who install above ground pools regularly. When you purchase your pool from us, we can connect you with installers in your area.
What Does Installation Cost?
Installation costs vary based on pool size, yard conditions, and your area. Here are general ranges to help you budget:
Ranges are estimates. Get quotes from at least two installers. We can help connect you with local pros when you purchase your pool.
Permits & Requirements
Most New Jersey municipalities require permits for above ground pools. Here's what to check before you start:
Building permit
Required in most municipalities for pools over a certain size. Check with your local building department.
Electrical permit
Filter pumps require electrical hookup. A licensed electrician should handle this — most towns require a separate electrical permit.
Fencing requirements
Many towns require a fence or barrier around the pool area. Check your local code for height and gate requirements.
Call 811 before you dig
If any digging or leveling is needed, call 811 to have underground utilities marked. It's free and required by law.
