Hydropool Swim Spas

Not a hot tub. Not quite a pool. A swim spa gives you a swim current to train against, a therapy zone to recover in, and enough room for the family — in a footprint that fits a deck or patio. Year-round use. One unit.

Hydropool Swim Spas in New Jersey: Four Series, Nine Models

Hydropool builds swim spas for four different use cases. The right pick depends on what you actually want out of the water — a serious swim, a hydrotherapy soak, a family plunge, or all three.

Executive

Premium Fitness

Hydropool’s swim-first flagship. Patented Current Collector for a smooth, predictable swim current.

AquaSport

Fitness + Therapy

Swim area plus ergonomic hydrotherapy seats with Zone Therapy. Hybrid use.

AquaTrainer

Focused Fitness

Same sizes as AquaSport, swim-forward. V-Twin jets for dialed-in endless swimming.

AquaPlay

Family Fun

Up to 9 adults. A backyard pool alternative for families who want play, not laps.

Executive Series

The Swim-First Flagship

Hydropool’s swim-first flagship. The patented Current Collector smooths out the swim stream, producing a cleaner, more predictable current than any other swim spa in the lineup. Every Executive also carries Self-Cleaning™ filtration as standard, like the rest of the Hydropool line except AquaPlay. Built for serious swimmers, triathletes, and anyone who wants pool-grade exercise in a backyard footprint.

AquaSport Series

Fitness with Therapy Built In

Swim area up front, ergonomic hydrotherapy seats in the back — same unit. Zone Therapy™ seating means each seat works a different muscle group. AquaSport is the hybrid pick for households that want real exercise AND a soak without buying two units.

Ask About the 14AX
AquaTrainer Series

Swim-Forward, Same Footprint

Same three sizes as AquaSport (14AX, 17AX, 19DTAX), but with the focus on swimming rather than therapy. Two V-Twin swim jets create a clean, adjustable current for at-home, total-body fitness. Less hardware for the seats, more for the swim — pick this if the swim is your primary use case.

Hydropool AquaTrainer 19DTAX — 19ft dual-temperature swim + 5-person hot tub

AquaTrainer 19DTAX

AquaTrainer

19ft · Dual-Temp swim + 5-person hot tub.

Ask About the 14AX
AquaPlay Series

The Family Fun Option

Different goal. AquaPlay skips the serious swim jets in favor of room — up to nine adults can fit. If your household wants a backyard plunge pool for kids, friends, and summer entertaining (not lap swimming), this is where to look.

Hydropool AquaPlay 13FFP — 13ft family fun pool seats up to 9 adults

AquaPlay 13FFP

AquaPlay

13ft · Family Fun Pool, seats up to 9 adults.

9 Adults 32 Jets 150" × 93"

Equipped with Zone Therapy seating for hydrotherapy when the kids are out of the water, plus enough open space to pack in adults and cousins at a family cookout.

Why Swim Spa

Pool, Hot Tub, or Swim Spa?

The swim spa exists because pools and hot tubs solve different problems. Here’s when one is the right call.

Your Yard Can’t Fit a Full Pool

A swim spa is about 14 to 22 feet long and fits on a deck, a patio slab, or an above-grade install. You get swim-worthy water without the excavation, permits, or footprint of an in-ground build. Works in New Jersey yards where a full pool isn’t feasible.

Can You Use a Swim Spa Year-Round in New Jersey?

Yes. In-ground pools close for half the year in NJ; a swim spa runs 365 days. Full-foam cabinet insulation and cold-climate covers keep the water usable in January — the same engineering that makes hot tubs practical through a New Jersey winter.

Is a Swim Spa a Good Exercise Option?

Yes — if you want adjustable-resistance swim training or low-impact aquatic fitness at home in New Jersey, a swim spa does both. Hot tubs don’t swim. Pools don’t give you controlled therapy. A swim spa handles both in one unit — train in one zone, recover in the other (or the dual-temp DTAX models run both at different temperatures simultaneously).

What “swim current” actually means

A swim spa’s V-Twin jets push a smooth, sustained current you swim against — like a treadmill for swimming. Unlike a pool where you flip-turn every few strokes, you swim continuously against the current.

Adjustable resistance means beginners can dial it back, and trained swimmers can push it up to competition pace. Hydropool’s patented Current Collector on Executive models reduces turbulence, producing a cleaner current than most swim spas on the market.

Four-Season Operation in NJ

Every Hydropool swim spa ships with full-foam insulation and is built for cold-weather operation. Swimmers report that January and February are when they use the unit the most — heated water against cold air is the whole point.

Smart covers reduce heat loss when not in use. Optional heat pumps on all models can cut operating costs during shoulder seasons.

Upgrades & Packages

Same story as the Signature line — Hydropool sells swim spas as a configurable unit. These are the upgrades we most often see customers pick up in the showroom.

Bellagio HydroFalls

Integrated waterfall feature that adds ambient water sound and makes the unit feel more like a backyard centerpiece.

Northern Lights + LED

Ambient lighting throughout the unit. Night swims, night soaks, backyard visual after dark.

Smart Tub™

Phone app for temperature, filtration, and diagnostics. Pre-heat for a morning swim from the kitchen.

Cross Training Fitness Package

Rowing kit, resistance bands, and aquatic fitness accessories that bolt into the swim area. Turn a swim spa into a full home gym.

Heat Pump

Optional heat pump cuts operating costs during spring and fall. Pays back over the life of the unit in NJ climates.

Cover & Cover Remover

Insulated bi-fold covers are standard. Upgrade to hydraulic cover remover if you don’t want to lift a 150-lb cover every session.

Not every package is available on every model. We’ll walk you through what fits in the showroom.

Swim Spa FAQ

Where can I see Hydropool swim spas in New Jersey?
At Seasonal World — your authorized Hydropool dealer in New Jersey, located at 532 Monmouth Road, Clarksburg, NJ 08510. Call 609.259.8330 to book a visit — which units are on the floor rotates, so confirm before you make the drive.
What’s the difference between AquaSport and AquaTrainer?
Same sizes (14AX, 17AX, 19DTAX), different emphasis. AquaSport includes ergonomic hydrotherapy seats with Zone Therapy in the back of the unit — it’s the hybrid pick if you want real swim plus real soak. AquaTrainer skips the fancy seating in favor of a swim-forward setup, so the unit is more dialed in for serious swimmers who’ll use the current as their primary feature.
What does “dual-temp” mean on the 19DTAX?
The 19DTAX models (both AquaSport and AquaTrainer versions) have a divider wall with two independent temperature zones. The swim half can run at 80–90°F (normal swimming temp). The hot tub half can run at up to 104°F (soak temp). Swim, walk over, soak. Same unit, two environments, no waiting for the water to heat up.
Why Executive over AquaSport or AquaTrainer?
The Executive line is Hydropool’s swim-first flagship. Its defining feature is the patented Current Collector, which smooths out the swim stream for a cleaner, more predictable current than you’ll get from AquaSport, AquaTrainer, or AquaPlay. Every Executive also carries Self-Cleaning™ filtration (which is standard across all Hydropool swim spas except the AquaPlay 13FFP). So the real question is: is the Current Collector and the swim-first engineering worth it for how you’ll actually use the spa?
Can I really use one of these in January in New Jersey?
Yes. All Hydropool swim spas are built for four-season operation with full-foam cabinet insulation and covers designed for cold-climate use. A lot of swim-spa owners in NJ report January and February are when they use the unit most — the steam coming off 90°F water in 25°F air is the whole experience.
What’s the install like?
Much simpler than a pool. Swim spas sit on a reinforced concrete pad or engineered deck — no excavation, no pool coping, no separate pump room. You need 240v electrical and a level pad rated for the full weight (typically 10,000–22,000 lbs filled). We review your site, access, pad, and electrical as part of the showroom conversation so there are no surprises on delivery day.
What about pricing and financing?
Pricing depends on model, configuration, and install. We do those conversations in person — a 14AX AquaTrainer is a different project than a 19DTAX AquaSport, and it’s not fair to quote them interchangeably. Financing is available. See our financing page or ask in the showroom.
